Shaker style kitchen design is perfect for Victorian house in Toronto. This shaker kitchen was designed and installed in Victorian style home in Toronto this year (2019). The homeowners who love to cook and entertain were looking for very functional and organized kitchen to maximize the storage and have plenty of space for guests to gather and talk while meals were prepared.
Originally U-shape design kitchen was working, but allowed not very much space around the kitchen island. We changed design of the kitchen to L-shape that created more space around the island and made the kitchen room more spacious and easy to work in.
Two level countertop on the island was a perfect solution that allowed plenty of space behind the island.
Cabinetry were designed all the way to the ceiling that created beautiful custom look and added more functional storage. This kitchen is very well organized and accessorized with 16 sixteen drawers/pullouts, LeMans base corner mechanism, double recycle bin, narrow pullout for oils/bottles.We have also installed LED under cabinet lights and LED lighting into a beautiful glass display cabinet.
For the kitchen door style clients have chosen painted shaker door. Shaker door style is a great choice to create a transitional kitchen design. Most of the kitchen cabinets are designed in light grey color and the island that looks like a furniture piece is in darker grey-taupe paint finish.
Countertops and full height back splash are Cambria Torquay Quartz that blended the cabinetry colors very well together. Quartz counters is an excellent choice for the kitchen countertops as it is a low maintenance non porous surface. It is also very popular now days to use the same color quartz panels as the wall back splash material. Quarts back splash offers a luxury look and easy to maintain and clean surface.
Hardwood floor chosen by the clients was a perfect choice that complimented cabinetry and counter top colors.
Stainless steel built in appliances are well positioned for a functional kitchen triangle with Liebherr 30 inches fridge, 30 inch Wolf gas cook top on the island built in Bosch oven and Panasonic microwave with trim kit. Elica chimney hood in glass and stainless steel and paneled fully integrated Miele dishwasher are making this kitchen beautiful, functional and contemporary.
